I saw for the first time today what rice, growing, looks like. Here's a picture for your eyes:
So basically, there 's rice inside those little husks growing on that stalk, so each grain needs to be taken out and then polished, before it gets put into the bags which we buy.
That must take forever!
I'm never going to look at the rice on my plate in the same way again...
(Also, if you haven't already done so, check out freerice. Give rice to hungry people AND improve your vocabulary. Does it get any better? ^_^)

anyway do hey really have to polish it individually surely they have some kind of machine to do that... but that really is kinda cool i never knew rice looked like that and thats basically my main staple ha
ahhh how strange i wonder how someone suddely decided somin that looked like that was edible...
